About the module

What it does.

"Every click on a filter reloads the whole page, and shoppers give up." When shoppers wait for a new page after every choice, the category feels slow and the screen jumps.

What it looks like in practice

A shopper opens a category with a hundred products, ticks two sizes and a colour, changes the sorting and scrolls on. The page does not reload, the scroll position stays, the filters stay open and the counts update. When they click "Add to cart", the product image flies to the cart icon and the mini-cart opens.

What changes

No page reloads. Filtering, sorting, items per page and paging are swapped in place. If anything fails, the page loads normally and the shopper is never stuck.
Endless listing. Choose a "Load more" button or automatic loading as you scroll; the normal pager stays in the page for search engines.
Add to cart without reload. Optional: fly-to-cart animation, the mini-cart opening and closing by itself, and an options popup for products with options right in the listing. It also works on the product page.
Long filters under control. A filter with many options gets its own scroll bar and a search box; multi-select options and a price slider are optional.
Quick view and sorting. Optional: product quick view in a side panel, sorting by newest and bestselling, and out-of-stock products at the end of the list.

Who it is for

For stores on the Hyvä theme with larger categories, where filtering is the main way to a product. It combines well with the Free-shipping bar and Mini-cart cross-sell modules.

How you set it up

Everything is in the admin under Stores › Configuration › Magelan › Ajax Catalog: main switch, no-reload updates, endless listing, quick view, add to cart without reload, filter and sorting settings. It works on the Hyvä theme.

Good to know

After installation the main switch and no-reload filtering are on; endless listing, quick view, add to cart without reload, multi-select and the price slider are off by default.
We checked the module on the Hyvä theme. Opening the mini-cart uses the Hyvä slide-in cart; we do not guarantee that on Luma.
Products that need a variant choice (configurable, bundle, grouped), a file upload or a date open on the product page, not in the options popup.
Add to cart is not intercepted on the cart and checkout pages.
A category set to "Static block only" shows no products; that is a category setting, not the module.

Installation

How to install it.

We install the module from our repository with Composer. We send you the user name and access key for the repository after purchase. If you prefer, we install it for you.

In the root of the Magento 2 store run the commands (replace UPORABNIK and DOSTOPNI_KLJUC with the user name and access key you received):

Setup

In the admin open Stores › Configuration › Magelan › Ajax Catalog.

In the General group check that Enabled is Yes, then turn on Endless product listing (button or automatic) and Product peek if you want them.
In the Add to cart without page reload group turn on No-reload add to cart and choose the animation, mini-cart opening and closing time.
In the Filters group set the thresholds for the scroll bar and search in long filters, and optionally turn on multi-select and the price slider.
Save, flush the cache and test a category and the search in the store.

Where do I get the user name and the access key?

After the purchase we send you the access key by e-mail. Keep it safe: for security it is shown only once and we do not keep it in readable form. The user name (your project code) and all the commands, ready to copy, are in your account under My account > Module licences.
