About the module

What it does.

"We have too many products and customers do not know what to choose." Someone who cannot find the right product within a few minutes often leaves without asking.

What it looks like in practice

A skin-care shop has a Quiz page. The customer answers a few questions (skin type, sensitivity, budget) and gets a result: "Your type is ...", and below it product cards with reasons, such as "sensitive skin ✓, within budget ✓". They add a product to the cart, and the result has its own address that they can share. In the admin you see how many people started the quiz, finished it, added a product to the cart and how much revenue those orders brought.

What changes

Rules, not tags. An answer can require a category or an attribute value, exclude it, or simply prefer it with a weight. You do not have to tag products by hand: once you add a product to a category, it is in the quiz the same night.
A recommendation with a reason. Every card on the result page says why it is there. The same breakdown appears in the simulator.
Simulator and coverage checks. In the admin you answer in place of the visitor and see how many products survive each rule. A path that leads to no product is flagged in the list, and a nightly check reports it before a customer finds it.
Results with their own page. Answers vote for an outcome ("Your type is ..."), which has its own heading, text, optionally a coupon and its own fallback list of products. A result has a permanent link that can be shared.
Lead capture and reports. Optional email capture with a separate, unticked consent for the newsletter. Reports show starts, completions, add-to-cart and revenue per quiz, path and outcome.

Who it is for

For shops with many products or advice-led purchases (cosmetics, equipment, food, gifts), where customers find it hard to choose on their own.

How you set it up

You create quizzes under Marketing › Product Recommendation Quiz › Quizzes, where you also find responses and reports. General settings (main switch, link prefix, email capture, abuse protection) are under Stores › Configuration › Magelan › Product Recommendation Quiz. A published quiz lives at /quiz/quiz-name. It works on the Luma and Hyvä themes.

Good to know

The module is switched off by default, and a quiz is a campaign that you publish yourself.
We do not force the quiz on anyone: it adds no popups. You add the link to it yourself, for example in a CMS page, a category description or a block.
It recommends only products from your own catalogue; no data leaves the shop.
You can ask date, text or number questions, but they do not affect product matching.
Cron must run to refresh the rule index, purge old responses and run the nightly path check.
Several products in one recommendation (slots), A/B tests and GraphQL are not part of this version.

Installation

How to install it.

We install the module from our repository with Composer. We send you the user name and access key for the repository after purchase. If you prefer, we install it for you.

In the root of the Magento 2 store run the commands (replace UPORABNIK and DOSTOPNI_KLJUC with the user name and access key you received):

Setup

In the admin open Stores › Configuration › Magelan › Product Recommendation Quiz.

Switch the module on (it is off by default) and change the link prefix if you like (default quiz).
Under Marketing › Product Recommendation Quiz › Quizzes create a quiz: questions, answers and rules (category, attribute, SKU, price).
Use the check button to open the simulator and try a few paths.
Set the quiz to Live, pick the store views and link to it from a CMS page or block.
If you like, enter the newsletter consent wording and the link to your privacy policy.

Where do I get the user name and the access key?

After the purchase we send you the access key by e-mail. Keep it safe: for security it is shown only once and we do not keep it in readable form. The user name (your project code) and all the commands, ready to copy, are in your account under My account > Module licences.

Fix: saving a quiz no longer empties its rules (the categories, prices, attributes and SKUs of every answer).
A quiz saved for all store views stays visible and its rule index is rebuilt.

The settings are in the right place, New quiz opens the form, Start over shows the first question and a draft preview loads its results.
The shared result page is styled and its cards link to the products.

Explainable results: every card carries the reasons, and a relaxation ladder says which rule was loosened when nothing matched outright.
