Shopify is removing all Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS) from its US platform - e-cigarettes, e-liquids, vaporizers, parts and refills - regardless of nicotine content, with the deadline set at July 7, 2026 UTC. The ban applies to every vape product, including FDA-authorised ones. This was not a court order. It was a policy change, made under pressure from a coalition of US state attorneys general.

What exactly is being removed
Shopify's ENDS removal covers the whole category, not just finished devices:

The policy language is explicit: ENDS "including e-cigarettes, e-liquids, vaporizers, parts, and refills," regardless of nicotine content. If it is part of a vape, it is going.
Why speed matters right now
When a platform removes a category, it does not hand you an open-ended grace period. Export windows are short and payouts can be held during review. Right now, before the deadline, the priority order is simple:
- Export everything while the admin still works - products, customer list, order history, theme files.
- Check how long Shopify is obligated to keep your data after removal - it is usually shorter than merchants expect.
- Tell your customers directly, by email or social, before they hit a broken checkout. A sudden disappearance damages trust more than the policy change.
