Omnisend is a popular e-mail and SMS marketing tool used by more and more online stores. Magento 2, however, had no up-to-date integration for it, so we built one and released it for free.
What is Omnisend
Omnisend is made for online stores. Besides newsletters, it offers automations such as an abandoned cart reminder, a thank-you after purchase and a shipping notice. There is also a free plan.
Magento and Omnisend: where it got stuck
Omnisend archived its official Magento 2 module in 2023. Most other integrations run on API v5, which Omnisend retires on 30 June 2027. Many also send a plain checkout link that restores the cart only in the same browser. A shopper who left the cart on a laptop and opens the e-mail on a phone finds an empty cart.
Our free Magento Omnisend module
So we wrote our own and released it for free as open source. It already runs in a live store.
Abandoned carts with a link that restores the cart on any device.
Orders: placed, paid, shipped with a parcel tracking link, cancelled and refunded.
Contacts with newsletter consent, as GDPR requires.
Catalog with variants, images and stock, updated on every change.
Speed: everything runs in the background, so the store stays just as fast, even when Omnisend is down.
How to start with Magento Omnisend
Install the module from GitHub.
Enter the API key and switch on the automations.
The Omnisend link is a partner link: if you later pay for Omnisend, Omnisend pays us a commission at no extra cost to you.
