Internet marketing has been accessible to "ordinary people" worldwide since the early nineties. In the time we live in, practically anyone can set up their own website and start their internet business. However, we notice a difference between someone who assembles a website in one day, expecting high traffic and earnings, and someone who carefully plans the site, regularly updates it (adds new articles), acquires backlinks to their pages, and ensures good site ranking in search engines.
How to start?
The vast majority of people who start dealing with websites first purchase a domain and hosting, as they are very impatient. However, they forget about the website plan, so it is good to ask questions before buying a domain, such as: "What will I write about on the website?", "Do I enjoy writing about this?", "Will I be able to get enough articles on this topic?", and "What is the competition like?" The last question is very important. When choosing keywords, we must be careful not to choose ones with strong competition in Google ranking.
Example: There is a higher chance of reaching the 1st place in searches for the keyword "full hd nature photos" than for "photos", as we are aware that sites optimizing for such a popular keyword are very strong.
What then, after I upload the CMS?
After installing the content management system, we can start changing and adapting the design to our needs. CMS systems have many options for adding modules and changing templates (themes). Once we have arranged the site to our satisfaction, we also take care of the logo, which can also be replaced with plain text.
And the content?
When everything you want is on the site and you are stylistically satisfied with it, it's time to add articles. The higher the quality of the article, the more likely the visitor will stay on the site for a while and check out the other content. Articles should be clear and meaningful. Optimally, 3% of the text should consist of the keyword we are optimizing for Google ranking (e.g., in a 300-word article, the keyword appears nine times). We add content more frequently when launching the website (possibly several articles a day) for faster indexing in search engines, but we must not forget to add content later, although not necessarily as often as at the beginning.
The website is finished, what now?
When the website is completed and online, it's time for optimization. This is so that the site ranks as well as possible in search engines, attracting more visitors and consequently earning more. Better search engine ranking = More visitors.
We optimize the site for the search engine in several ways:
Through content: As mentioned earlier, we must regularly add articles with the right choice of keywords.
Links pointing to our site (backlinks). We know do-follow and no-follow links. Do-follow are the ones we want and which help us with ranking and higher PR (PageRank). Backlinks can be purchased on other sites, and on some sites, they can be posted for free. Some websites accept articles in which we can publish our links. These sites are very good because the pages from which the links come have high PR, which benefits our search engine ranking.
We can also optimize by adding meta tags to the content (entering keywords - tags) and naming images by adding an attribute.
