About the module

What it does.

“The site is in Slovenian and I speak German.” With several languages or countries, visitors struggle to find their version and leave.

What it looks like in practice

A German visitor lands on your site, sees a flag in the header and clicks it. A list of the other versions of the store opens and they pick theirs. If you chose the short display, they see only a country code, for example SI or DE.

What changes

Their own language in one click. The switcher in the header shows a flag and the language name or the country code.
The flag follows the language. The flag follows the locale of the store view.
Country code only, if you like. Instead of the language name you can show the country code (SI, DE).
All versions in one place. The switcher offers the other store views of all websites; a store view that is switched off is not offered as a choice.

Stores in several languages or for several countries, where the versions live in separate store views.

How you set it up

Set it up under Stores › Configuration › Magelan › Store Switch: Enable Switch and Show Country Code Only.

Good to know

The switcher replaces Magento’s language selector in the header and in the mobile menu.
On Hyvä it works as a standalone component.

Installation

How to install it.

You get the module from our private Composer repository; we send you the user name and access key after purchase. We can install it for you, or whoever looks after your store can run these commands in the root of the Magento 2 store (replace UPORABNIK and DOSTOPNI_KLJUC with the user name and access key you received):

Where do I get the user name and the access key?

After the purchase we send you the access key by e-mail. Keep it safe: for security it is shown only once and we do not keep it in readable form. The user name (your project code) and all the commands, ready to copy, are in your account under My account > Module licences.

A store view with the switch turned off is removed from the list; the setting was read for the current store only.
Show Country Code Only works: Yes shows the country code (SI, DE) next to the flag. Its default is No.
A store view whose locale Magento does not list shows its name instead of breaking the header.
The Hyvä switcher is compatible with the Content Security Policy.
The admin texts are translated into Slovenian, Croatian, German, Italian and Hungarian.
