Visibility for AI assistants (GEO)

Your store becomes readable for ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, you decide who may read it, and you see the visits and orders they bring.

Report on AI crawler visits (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and others): which crawler, with what purpose and how often it visited the shop
About the module

What it does.

"Shoppers now ask ChatGPT what to buy, and we don't know if it even sees us." If assistants can't understand your store, or aren't allowed to read it, they won't recommend you.

What it looks like in practice

In the settings you switch the module on and write a short summary of your store. The store publishes a plain-text guide at /llms.txt, and in robots.txt you decide for known AI crawlers whether they may read for training, for search or on a user's request. A few days later the overview shows which crawlers read which pages, and how many visits and orders came from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and others. With "What does a bot see?" you check what a given crawler sees on any page.

What changes

  • A guide for assistants. An llms.txt file with the shop summary, delivery and return information, categories and best sellers; optionally llms-full.txt with every product.
  • You decide who may read. 26 known AI crawlers in three groups (model training, AI search, fetch on a user's request); you allow or block each group, and single crawlers can be always blocked or always allowed.
  • Measurement. Crawler visits per day, visitors from AI assistants, and orders credited to each assistant within the period you set (30 days by default). No IP addresses are stored.
  • Page review and 404s. Every night it reads all pages and lists what to fix (titles, descriptions, H1, broken links, missing alt text); 404 pages are counted and one click creates a redirect to the most similar page.
  • Shopping in ChatGPT and Gemini (optional). A product feed for ChatGPT and a cart for AI agents; the buyer always pays in your own checkout.

Who it is for

For stores worried that AI search will overlook them, or that want to know how much traffic AI assistants really bring. It pairs well with the Rich Snippets module for structured data.

How you set it up

The overview is under Marketing › AI Visibility (Overview, What does a bot see?, Page review, Settings). Settings are under Stores › Configuration › Magelan › AI Visibility. It works on Luma and Hyvä (the tracker is a small script before the end of the page).

Good to know

  • The module is switched off by default; you switch it on in the settings.
  • A physical pub/robots.txt or pub/llms.txt on the server must be removed, otherwise the request never reaches Magento.
  • Crawlers can ignore robots.txt; real blocking belongs in a firewall or CDN.
  • Requests answered by Varnish or a CDN never reach the store and are not counted. Some assistants send no referrer, so those visits look like direct traffic.
  • The module does not create structured data (JSON-LD); it only checks that it is there.
  • Shopping in ChatGPT and Gemini is a separate switch and off by default; payment always happens in the store's own checkout.

Want it in your store?

Buy the module and we install it for you: free of charge for existing Degriz customers, by time spent for others. Building a new store? Add it to your project in the Konfigurator.

Installation

How to install it.

We install the module from our repository with Composer. We send you the user name and access key for the repository after purchase. If you prefer, we install it for you.

In the root of the Magento 2 store run the commands (replace UPORABNIK and DOSTOPNI_KLJUC with the user name and access key you received):

composer config repositories.degriz composer https://www.degriz.net/konfigurator/composer/packages/composer config --auth http-basic.www.degriz.net UPORABNIK DOSTOPNI_KLJUCcomposer require degriznet/m2_aivisibilityphp bin/magento module:enable Magelan_AiVisibilityphp bin/magento setup:upgradephp bin/magento setup:di:compilephp bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy -fphp bin/magento cache:flush

Setup

In the admin open Stores › Configuration › Magelan › AI Visibility.

  1. Under General set Enabled to Yes.
  2. Write a short summary of the store and pick the about pages and the delivery, returns and terms pages for llms.txt.
  3. Review the AI crawler groups (training, search, on a user's request) and block or allow single crawlers if needed.
  4. If the web server serves a physical pub/robots.txt or pub/llms.txt, remove them.
  5. Follow the results under Marketing › AI Visibility › Overview, and open Page review once so the module notices the server.

Where do I get the user name and the access key?

After the purchase we send you the access key by e-mail. Keep it safe: for security it is shown only once and we do not keep it in readable form. The user name (your project code) and all the commands, ready to copy, are in your account under My account > Module licences.

Lost the key? Write to us and we will issue a new one; the old one stops working. [email protected]

Change log

Version 1.2.3 · 12 Oct 2026

  • Page review: an HTTP login setting for a shop behind a password (encrypted), so a staging shop behind basic authentication is no longer reported as HTTP 401 on every page. Credentials go only to the shop's own hosts.
  • The page review reads product facts from the page's microdata too, so a price, availability or rating is no longer wrongly reported as missing.
  • The weekly e-mail shows, for a page that does not exist, how many visits came from bots and AI assistants.
  • Fix: robots.txt answered an error 500 on a shop that had never saved its own rules.

Version 1.2.1 · 11 Oct 2026

  • Page review: when products have no price in the structured data and Rich Snippets is installed with its product data switched off, the advice says so and links to the setting.

Version 1.2.0 · 11 Oct 2026

  • Page review, SEO and GEO in one place: every night the shop reads all its pages like a search engine (home, products, categories, CMS pages) and lists 20 kinds of problems with advice and a Fix link.
  • Problems across pages: repeated titles and descriptions, and links to pages that do not exist or redirect.
  • A score per page and for the shop, a trend of the last reviews and a manual Review now.
  • A 404 log with one click to redirect to the most similar page.
  • A Monday weekly e-mail with the score per store view and the biggest problems, in the shop's language.
  • When a CDN refuses the server's own requests, the review reads the web server directly.

Version 1.1.2 · 11 Oct 2026

  • The menu entry is called AI Visibility and Settings comes last.

Version 1.1.1 · 2 Oct 2026

  • A fuller ACP product feed: a plain-text description, GTIN barcodes, categories, variant options, seller and image alt text.
  • A /ucp address for servers that refuse /.well-known/ paths, and a command to rebuild the feed at once.

Version 1.1.0 · 2 Oct 2026

  • First version: visibility in AI answers. llms.txt and llms-full.txt per store view.
  • AI crawler rules in robots.txt (26 crawlers) and a crawler visit log, also from the page cache.
  • Visits, orders and revenue from eleven AI assistants, including orders placed over REST.
  • An overview, a page audit as an AI crawler and a catalog readiness report.
  • Agentic commerce: an ACP product feed (OpenAI) per store view, refreshed every three hours, and a UCP checkout (Google) that ends the purchase in your own checkout.
  • A cart link for assistants that can only show a link, with a rate limit and a daily ceiling.
