Ideas for increasing sales on an online store with an example

Every online retailer always wants to increase the sales of their products through their online store. For this reason, new solutions and modules are being developed. I have been active in the field of online stores for almost 15 years, so I can hardly remember any completely new idea that I haven't used yet. However, there are always stores that bring many fresh ideas with them. This time, it's the online store Sensilab, which combines various sales elements in one place. Even more interesting is that they have set all this up on the Magento platform, which is particularly close to me.

In this post, I will focus on product pages and highlight some key elements that could be an inspiration for improvements to your store.

1. Highlighted discounts and quantity options with discounts

Every product clearly states the percentage of discount, which immediately attracts the attention of visitors. At the same time, it also shows how much discount you can expect when purchasing multiple products. The price for 1, 2, and 3 pieces is visible for each quantity. The best choice is also highlighted, encouraging customers to purchase larger quantities, thereby increasing the cart value.

In addition to the option to choose quantity, they also offer a monthly subscription to products with an even greater discount and free delivery. Although the subscription system is not so common in Slovenia, it has become a big trend abroad, as it allows transforming a one-time purchase into regular monthly purchases.

2. Detailed product content

The product content is not just a few short dry descriptions but is broken down into different elements. It starts with a short description and a list of benefits that the product offers. In addition, various attributes such as "gluten-free", "made in the EU", "GMO-free", etc., are marked, along with emphasizing a 30-day guarantee and a free gift.

It continues with a more extensive description, divided into several sections and covering various product benefits. On the right side, the list of ingredients, usage instructions, and various warnings are provided.

3. Featured add-ons

You will quickly notice that this is not an ordinary product page, as the banner for adding the product to the cart moves with the screen, making it hard to miss. At the bottom of the page, the option to order products is repeated.

4. Visitor reviews

The emphasis on visitor reviews is excellent as it helps in making purchase decisions. Sensilab has a wide collection of reviews for all products, which is quite rare for our market, as it is difficult to obtain reviews from customers without additional incentives.

The website has an integrated Yotpo system, which allows the display of reviews in an expanded way and collects reviews, enabling notifications via email and SMS messages.

5. Add-ons to increase cart value

If you add a product to the cart, you will notice how quickly a special offer with discounted products appears and information on how much is missing for free delivery.

The site really has a lot of very interesting elements, and visiting this site is a real pleasure due to so many different ideas. Already on the product page itself, we see that there are really many.

Do you also know an online store that inspired you? Please share it with us. The more ideas we have available, the more solutions we can offer our customers. If you haven't noticed yet, I've also added some modules for Magento on the website. Check them out here! I have more planned, and some I will add completely free of charge.
