Why online retailers do not exclude categories and menus in SEO

Are you ready to take an extra step for a better organic search result position of your online store in search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, and others?

SEO (search engine optimization) is a necessary dynamic process in designing a website to position it as high as possible in search engine results, as the higher the website is positioned, the more chances it has to attract potential customers.

“On average, 64% of marketers constantly improve website optimization (SEO).” (Hub Spot, 2020)

Why they dedicate so much time to website optimization:

    • There are more and more websites on the internet every day, so search engines position search results with different algorithms based on the websites that would be most relevant to the user,
    • Web crawlers - reading indexed content on the web allows the search engine to recognize and gather information about websites.

“The average number of words a user enters into the browser during a search query is 3.” (Moz)

In long-term advertising activities like SEO, we can create well-optimized categories for searched keywords so that the online store consistently achieves a high position among search results.

Simply put, users are more likely to search for general keywords similar to a category rather than exact product names.

Example: Searching for specific groceries.
When someone searches more with such words in search engines, like the classic classification of the type of food, and consequently, if we have a specific page dedicated to an exact specific keyword, we can get more traffic to the website.

What to pay attention to when creating categories and menus for SEO:

    • Keyword analysis,
    • Review of current rankings by keywords,
    • Comparison with competitors.

Competitor review is also a good step for finding categories you do not use, but that work. Some SEOs are made solely for SEO purposes and have very little content for visitors.

What good optimization of categories and menus offers:

    • Higher website position,
    • More potential customers,
    • Increased sales,
    • Lower costs with Google Ads,

How much time do you, on average, dedicate to optimization? When was the last time you "refreshed" your website or store? Do not delay too long, as web crawlers are constantly searching for information about websites and stores. Many websites have pages fully adapted to SEO with only a modest description and are positioned high in search results, and your potential customers click on them.

If optimization presents too big a challenge for you or you do not want to waste additional time, at Degriz we collaborate with D-studio, which can also prepare optimal web content for your website, but due to increasing demand, we ask all interested parties to write to marketing@degriz.net.
