About the module

What it does.

"We advertise in ChatGPT but do not know which orders came from there." Without measuring, you do not know whether the ad brings purchases, and you cannot optimise.

What it looks like in practice

In Ads Manager you copy the pixel ID and enter it in the store settings. A visitor clicks an ad in ChatGPT, looks at a product, adds it to the cart and buys. Each of these steps is sent to OpenAI as an event, and the purchase is sent once more from the server so an ad blocker does not lose it. OpenAI merges the two into one purchase and you see the conversions in Ads Manager.

What changes

The OpenAI pixel. The pixel loads with your ID, and each standard event (page view, product view, add to cart, checkout started, purchase, registration, newsletter sign-up, search) is switched on separately.
Server-side Conversions API. The events you choose are also sent from the server with the same event ID, and OpenAI merges the two. A test mode that only validates events can be turned on.
Advanced matching. E-mail, phone and name are hashed (SHA-256) on your server before sending; the raw values never leave the store. Address details can be switched off.
Cookie consent. The OpenAI script loads only once the consent cookie is set; events before that are queued.
Cache safe. Visitor data comes from an uncached request, so a cached page never carries another visitor's identity.

Who it is for

For shops that already advertise (or will advertise) in ChatGPT through OpenAI Ads and need conversion measurement. The module measures; you run the advertising itself in Ads Manager.

How you set it up

Settings are in the admin under Stores › Configuration › Degriz › OpenAI Ads (ChatGPT) Pixel. You need the pixel ID from Ads Manager (Conversions › Pixels) and, for server-side sending, an API key (Conversions › Manage conversion keys).

Good to know

The module is switched off by default; turn it on and enter the pixel ID. The server-side API is separately off.
You need an OpenAI Ads account; the module does not create ads.
Test the setup with debug mode and "validate only" before you start counting conversions.
Sending from the server never blocks an order: failures are logged.
The module is free and open source; the disclaimer of the licence applies.

Installation

How to install it.

We install the module from our repository with Composer. We send you the user name and access key for the repository after purchase. If you prefer, we install it for you.

In the root of the Magento 2 store run the commands (replace UPORABNIK and DOSTOPNI_KLJUC with the user name and access key you received):

Setup

In the admin open Stores › Configuration › Degriz › OpenAI Ads (ChatGPT) Pixel.

In the General group switch the pixel on and enter the pixel ID from Ads Manager (Conversions › Pixels). Turn on debug mode while testing.
In the Events group choose the events the store sends.
If you use a cookie banner, in the Cookie Consent group turn on the consent requirement and enter the cookie your banner sets (for Magento's cookie restriction this is user_allowed_save_cookie).
Walk the funnel product, cart, checkout, purchase and check each event in the browser console.
For server-side sending, in the Conversions API group enter the API key, choose the events (for example purchase, checkout started, add to cart) and first turn on "Validate Only"; turn it off once verified.

Where do I get the user name and the access key?

After the purchase we send you the access key by e-mail. Keep it safe: for security it is shown only once and we do not keep it in readable form. The user name (your project code) and all the commands, ready to copy, are in your account under My account > Module licences.
