Cash-on-delivery weight limit
Above a weight you set, cash on delivery simply disappears. Heavy orders do not risk an expensive return.

About the module
What it does.
“A heavy parcel not collected from the courier, and I pay for the return too.” For heavy orders delivery is expensive, and if the parcel is not collected you also carry the cost of the return.
What it looks like in practice
A customer puts several heavy bags into the cart. The total weight passes your limit, so at checkout cash on delivery is not among the choices, while prepayment and the other payment methods you offer remain. Light orders can still be paid on delivery.
What changes
- Automatic restriction. The weights of the products in the cart are added up; if the total passes the limit, cash on delivery is not offered.
- You set the limit. You can change the maximum weight and the unit (kg, g or lbs) at any time.
- Everything else stays as it is. Only cash on delivery is hidden; the other payment methods remain.
Who it is for
Stores with heavy products (bags, bulky parcels, materials) that offer cash on delivery and worry about the cost of uncollected parcels.
How you set it up
You switch the feature on in Stores › Configuration › Magelan › COD Weight Restriction, where you set the maximum weight and the unit. The total weight of all products in the cart is compared (product weight times quantity); the default limit is 50 kg until you change it.
Good to know
- Products with no weight entered count as weightless.
- The module hides cash on delivery but does not show the customer an explanation.

How to install it.
You get the module from our private Composer repository; we send you the user name and access key after purchase. We can install it for you, or whoever looks after your store can run these commands in the root of the Magento 2 store (replace UPORABNIK and DOSTOPNI_KLJUC with the user name and access key you received):

After the purchase we send you the access key by e-mail. Keep it safe: for security it is shown only once and we do not keep it in readable form. The user name (your project code) and all the commands, ready to copy, are in your account under My account > Module licences.
