Product labels and badges

About the module
What it does.
"We have a sale, but nobody notices it in the listing." When every product looks the same, the shopper cannot tell what is new, what is reduced and what is about to run out.
What it looks like in practice
A shopper browses a category. A new product carries a "New" badge, a reduced one "Sale", and one with little stock "Last items". You did not tag every product by hand: a rule added the badge because the product is new, discounted or low on stock.
What changes
- By hand or automatic. You pick the badge on the product, or the module adds it by rules.
- Rules of your own. Rules can be based on name, price, a sale (with a minimum discount), stock, product age or category.
- Image or text. A badge can be an image or text, with an explanation the customer sees next to it.
- In the right place. You set the display in listings and on the product page, and on the product page also the position (under the price or above the name).
- Per store. You can set badges differently for each store view.
Who it is for
For stores with many products where tagging by hand is not realistic: fashion, sports, technical or general catalogues with sales and new arrivals. For a single category of all reduced products, look at the Automatic "Sale" category module.
How you set it up
You manage badges under Catalog › Product Icons and set the display under Stores › Configuration › Magelan › Product Icons. Badges show up on the Luma and Hyvä themes.
Good to know
- The "New" or "Sale" badges are not created in advance; you create them in the admin, or we set them up.
- If a theme does not call the standard product details output, a small template change is needed.

How to install it.
We deliver the module from our own repository, installed with Composer. We send you the user name and access key for the repository after purchase. If you prefer, we install and set it up for you.
In the root of the Magento 2 store run the commands (replace UPORABNIK and DOSTOPNI_KLJUC with the user name and access key you received):

Where do I get the user name and the access key?
After the purchase we send you the access key by e-mail. Keep it safe: for security it is shown only once and we do not keep it in readable form. The user name (your project code) and all the commands, ready to copy, are in your account under My account > Module licences.
