Version 2.0 adds gift ladders, progress in the cart, a gift choice and a product page badge. Existing cart price rules with a gift keep working; there are no manual steps.
1. Upgrade the module
We can do the upgrade for you. If whoever looks after your store does it, they run this in the store root:

2. What changes

The upgrade sets Gift actions in cart price rules to Yes by itself when any rule already uses a gift, so the admin looks the same as before.
3. Check after the upgrade
In the cart, meet the condition of your gift rule and check that the gift is added.
If you export orders to accounting or an ERP, check one export: the gift now has its regular price and a discount instead of a price of 0. The gift data is also stored on the order item.
If you ship by weight and the gift must not change the shipping price, switch off Gifts count towards the shipping weight in the settings.
Consider replacing gift rules by cart value with a gift ladder, which shows the customer the progress.
