Coupon label on products and automatic coupon

A coupon from your cart price rule is shown right on the product page and in listings: with the percentage, the price with the code and a copy button; the coupon can also be applied to the cart automatically.

A coupon that shoppers don't know about doesn't bring in sales. The module shows the code from a cart price rule where shoppers are looking at the product: a -10% badge, the price they would pay with the code, and with code JESEN10 with a Copy code button. An info icon also shows a hint, for example Autumn discount - 10 % off with code JESEN10. Offer valid until 30. 09. 2026. If you like, the code can be entered automatically when the product is added to the cart.

Before you start

  • an active cart price rule with the coupon set to Specific Coupon and a code entered (not with auto-generated codes).

Switching it on in the rule

Marketing › Promotions › Cart Price Rules

  1. Open the rule with the coupon and expand the Coupon display section.

  2. Set Show coupon on product page to Yes so the label appears on the product page, and set Show coupon on product listing / category to Yes so it appears in listings and search results.

Coupon display section in the cart price rule with four settings
    1. Show coupon on product page - label on the product page.
    2. Show coupon on product listing / category - label in listings and search.
    3. Coupon message - your own hint
    4. {{code}}, {{discount}} and {{price}} are replaced.
    5. Automatically apply coupon to cart - the code is applied automatically.
  3. In Coupon message you can enter your own hint. If the field is empty, the hint is put together from the rule name, discount, code and dates. In the text, {{code}} shows the code, {{discount}} the discount and {{price}} the price with the code.

  4. Set Automatically apply coupon to cart to Yes if the code should be applied automatically when the shopper adds the product to the cart. It never replaces a code the shopper entered themselves.

  5. Click Save.

Which products show it

The label is shown on products that match the rule's Category condition (in the Conditions or Actions section). A rule without a category condition shows the label on all products. If several rules apply to the same product, the one with the biggest discount is shown.

The module only takes the category condition into account. Conditions on the cart amount, SKU or quantity don't limit the label: a rule for 10 % over 100 EUR also shows the label on a 20 EUR product. Better not to switch on the label for such rules, or state the condition clearly in Coupon message.
With a fixed discount, the amount is deducted from the product price to show the price with the code. With a discount on the whole cart, the actual discount is spread across the products, so a percentage discount suits the label best.

Common problems

The label doesn't appear

The rule must be active, within its dates, for the right website and customer group, and set to Specific Coupon with a code entered. A rule with auto-generated codes doesn't have a single code, so it can't show a label. After making changes, flush the cache.

The code isn't applied to the cart automatically

There's already another code in the cart; the automatic coupon never replaces it. The shopper should remove the old code.
