The module fills in company, street, postcode and city from the registers. If a register does not answer, the customer fills in the fields.

Checkout with the VAT number field, the Get company data button and a green line after a successful lookup
After the click the company name, street, postcode and city are filled in from the register.

1. Show the VAT number field

Stores › Configuration › Customers › Customer Configuration › Create New Account Options

Set Show VAT Number on Storefront to Yes. Without a visible field there is nothing to fill in.

2. Switch the module on

Stores › Configuration › Magelan › VAT lookup

In General choose where the module works (checkout, registration and My Account, admin), the trigger and the allowed countries (default SI,HR).

3. Choose the registers

In Registers switch on the FURS lists (Slovenia; available at once after the first import), VIES and Sudreg (Croatia, needs a free Client ID and Secret from sudreg-data.gov.hr). Test connection tells you whether a register answers. Inetis is an optional fallback and is off by default. Start the first import of the FURS lists with Import now or with bin/magento magelan:vatlookup:furs-import; after that they refresh by themselves.

4. Try it

At checkout type a known VAT number and click Get company data. Lookups are listed under Stores › VAT lookups.
