The Pošta Slovenije (Slovenian postal service) delivery method offers five options: delivery to an address and four kinds of collection. For collection, the customer uses a search box at checkout to choose the exact place (a post office, parcel locker, partner point or Direct4me parcel box). You can see the chosen point on the order, and it is also used when printing labels.

1. Switching it on and prices

Stores › Configuration › Sales › Delivery Methods › Posta Slovenije

The settings are split into groups. Open a group by clicking its title. You manage the first three yourself: General, Delivery Methods and Collection Point Selection at Checkout.

  1. At the top left, choose the website you are setting up. The settings apply to the whole website, not per language.

  2. In the General group, set Enabled to Yes. Title is the carrier name the customer sees above the options (for example Pošta Slovenije).

The General group with the Enabled and Title settings
    1. Enabled - Yes switches the carrier on.
    2. Title - the carrier name above the delivery options.
  3. Open the Delivery Methods group. Each of the five options has its own subgroup: Home Delivery, Post Office, Parcel Locker, Partner Collection Point (for example a petrol station) and Direct4me Box. Switch an option on with Enabled = Yes; only then do its other settings appear.

The Home Delivery subgroup in the Delivery Methods group
    1. Enabled - switches this option on.
    2. Method Name - the name the customer sees at checkout.
    3. Price - a single price including VAT.
    4. Price by Weight - prices by weight band (optional).
    5. Sort Order - a lower number appears higher.
  4. In Price, enter the price including VAT. If you want the price to depend on the parcel weight, fill in Price by Weight: one band per line in the form from_kg:price, for example 0:4.50 and on the next line 5:5.00 (up to 5 kg 4.50 EUR, from 5 kg 5.00 EUR). If the field is empty, the price above applies.

  5. Use Sort Order to set the order of the options at checkout; a lower number appears higher.

  6. In the Collection Point Selection at Checkout group, leave Require a Selected Pickup Point set to Yes: a customer cannot place the order without choosing a pickup point. Show a Map of Collection Points shows a map below the search box. The two fields below it (Map Tile URL and Map Attribution) set where the map is loaded from; we set them up for you. Use the Collection Point as the Shipping Address means the order, the confirmation e-mail and the packing slip show the chosen pickup point as the delivery address; the customer's own address stays as the billing address.

The Collection Point Selection at Checkout group
    1. Require a Selected Pickup Point - the order cannot be placed without a choice.
    2. Show a Map of Collection Points - a map below the search box.
    3. Use the Collection Point as the Shipping Address - the order shows the pickup point address.
  7. Click Save Config.

Set up free delivery above a certain amount with a cart rule, as for other delivery methods.

Do not change the Collection Point List, eShopProvider Portal, eSpremnica Account and Advanced groups. We set them up to match your contract with Pošta Slovenije.

2. What the customer sees

  1. At checkout, under the delivery method, they see your option names with prices.

  2. When they choose collection, a search box opens below it: they type a town, street or postcode and choose a point from the list (name, address, distance). The list only shows the type of point that matches the chosen option.

  3. The chosen point is saved on the order. They can change it with the change button until they place the order.

The list of pickup points is refreshed automatically from Pošta Slovenije, so you never need to enter new points.

3. The pickup point on the order

Sales › Orders › (order)

An order with collection has a Posta Slovenije Collection Point section with the name, address, post office, point code, date chosen, submission status (PS status) and a Show on map link. In the order grid, you can switch on the Pickup point and PS status columns under Columns.

The Columns panel above the order grid with the Pickup point and PS status columns ticked
  1. Columns - the button above the order grid.
  2. Pickup point - the pickup point chosen for the order.
  3. PS status - the submission status with Pošta Slovenije.
If you correct the customer's address after the order, the parcel still goes to the chosen pickup point. The shop records this in the order's comments history. If the customer wants a different point, write to us.

Common problems

The customer cannot place the order

For collection they must choose a pickup point. Ask them to find one in the search box below the delivery method; without a choice, the order cannot be placed.

There is no collection option at checkout

Check that the option is switched on in the Delivery Methods group (Enabled = Yes). Collection options hide themselves when the list of pickup points is missing or out of date. If the option is switched on and still missing, write to us; we will refresh the data from Pošta Slovenije.

The delivery method is not available abroad

Pošta Slovenije is limited to Slovenia. For other countries, use a different delivery method.
