About the module

What it does.

"The new sale starts tomorrow, and the old banner is still on the homepage." If every change to the homepage means calling someone, promotions always go live late.

What it looks like in practice

You start a seasonal sale. In the admin you open Banners and add a new one: upload an image (the text can already be on it), enter a link to the sale category, pick the store view and the position. You switch the old banner off. Visitors to the homepage see the new offer, and you did not have to wait for anyone.

What changes

You edit the banners yourself. For each one you enter a title, description, image, link and link target.
Image, image with text, or video. A banner can be an image with text, an image without the text overlay (when the text is already in the picture) or a YouTube video.
You decide what shows where. Choose the store views, the position and the sort order of each banner; you can also switch a single banner off.
A slider the way you like it. Loop, arrows, dots, autoplay with a timeout, pause on hover and the spacing between slides.

Who it is for

For stores that change the homepage promotions often (seasons, sales, new arrivals) and do not want to wait for outside help on every change. It pairs well with the Product labels and badges module.

How you set it up

You add and edit banners in the admin under Content › Elements › Banners. Slider settings are under Stores › Configuration › Magelan › Banners. The slider appears on the home page; it works on the Luma and Hyvä themes.

Good to know

The module is switched off by default; turn it on in the settings.
The home page shows the banners with position 1 automatically. Other positions we can place where you want them.

Installation

How to install it.

We deliver the module from our own repository, installed with Composer. We send you the user name and access key for the repository after purchase. If you prefer, we install and set it up for you.

In the root of the Magento 2 store run the commands (replace UPORABNIK and DOSTOPNI_KLJUC with the user name and access key you received):

If you use the Hyvä theme, also run php bin/magento hyva:config:generate after installing and rebuild the theme CSS.

Where do I get the user name and the access key?

After the purchase we send you the access key by e-mail. Keep it safe: for security it is shown only once and we do not keep it in readable form. The user name (your project code) and all the commands, ready to copy, are in your account under My account > Module licences.
