About the module

What it does.

"When I run a sale I have to show the lowest price before the reduction, and I have no price history." Tracking prices by hand across a whole catalogue is not realistic, and a wrong figure is a risk.

What it looks like in practice

You reduce a product as usual. The module recorded the price earlier, so under the price on the product page the shopper sees the line "Lowest price in 30 days" with the amount that applied before the reduction. On a product with variants (for example sizes) the value follows the selected variant. In the admin you can see the product's price history.

What changes

Prices are recorded by themselves. When a product is saved and during the regular daily price check (cron).
Shown only where needed. The line "Lowest price in 30 days" appears on a discounted product, under the price on the product page, and optionally in product listings.
Works with product variants. On a configurable product the value follows the selected variant.
History overview. In the admin you see the price history and can clear it when needed.

Who it is for

For every store that advertises discounts and sells to consumers in the EU. It makes most sense to switch it on before you start running sales.

How you set it up

You find the history under Catalog › Product price 30 days and the settings under Stores › Configuration › Magelan › Product price 30 days: switch on, display in listings, display of the previous (struck-through) price and the check schedule. It works on the Luma and Hyvä themes, per store view.

Good to know

Only the price for logged-out customers is recorded, and only the states in which the product is discounted.
The history starts when the module is installed. Install it at least 30 days before you start advertising discounts.
The module helps you meet the rules on announcing price reductions; it does not guarantee compliance, which depends on your business and the law.

Installation

How to install it.

We deliver the module from our own repository, installed with Composer. We send you the user name and access key for the repository after purchase. If you prefer, we install and set it up for you.

In the root of the Magento 2 store run the commands (replace UPORABNIK and DOSTOPNI_KLJUC with the user name and access key you received):

Where do I get the user name and the access key?

After the purchase we send you the access key by e-mail. Keep it safe: for security it is shown only once and we do not keep it in readable form. The user name (your project code) and all the commands, ready to copy, are in your account under My account > Module licences.

A new Show the price before the reduction setting (off by default): on a real reduction the price before it is shown struck through, the lowest price of the 30 days before the reduction (Omnibus), not just the regular price.
If the product was as cheap or cheaper in those 30 days, no reduction is announced and the Lowest price in 30 days line stays.
Works on Luma and Hyvä, for simple and configurable products (the struck price follows the chosen variant).
A more careful prior price: it counts a reduction that started before the 30 days and was still applied, and the price right before the current reduction.
