Unpaid order reminder
Reminds the customer of an unpaid order and cancels it automatically when the time runs out, so the store isn't left with stale orders.

About the module
What it does.
"More and more orders are waiting for payment and nobody closes them." Unpaid orders tie up stock, clutter your overview and need reminders sent by hand.
What it looks like in practice
A customer places an order with a pro-forma invoice and doesn't pay. After five days (you set the number) they receive a polite reminder with the order number, the date of automatic cancellation and a "Cancel my order" link. If they have not paid by the end of the period you set, the store cancels the order and sends the customer a cancellation notice. You do nothing, and the order history records what happened.
What changes
- Reminder on your schedule. You set after how many days from the order the customer gets a reminder and after how many further days the order is cancelled.
- You choose the order statuses. Separately set which order statuses get reminders and which get cancelled, including your own custom statuses.
- Its own e-mails. Templates for the reminder and the cancellation notice, editable in Magento; they include the store contact and the cancellation date.
- Cancel via a link. The customer can cancel the order themselves from the link in the reminder; the link checks the customer's e-mail.
- Time and frequency. You set the time and frequency of the run (every day at 9:00 by default); a customer receives at most one reminder per order.
Who it is for
For stores that receive prepaid orders (pro-forma invoice, bank transfer) and want unpaid orders cleaned up automatically. If you are already using the UPN payment reminder module, read the difference below.
How you set it up
Everything is set under Stores › Configuration › Magelan › Unpaid Order Reminder. The module has no storefront display apart from the cancel link in the e-mail, so it is independent of the theme (Luma and Hyvä).
Good to know
- Important: the module does not check the payment method, only the order status. Choose statuses that truly mean "waiting for payment", so you don't cancel orders that are paid or must not be cancelled.
- By default it is switched on and the default status is predracun (a custom status); replace it with your own, otherwise the module finds no orders.
- One reminder is sent per order, then the cancellation when the period ends.
- You need a working cron and working e-mail sending.
- Difference from the UPN payment reminder module: that one works only for orders paid by UPN slip, resends the order confirmation with your note, and cancels. This module works by order status (so also for pro-forma or bank transfer), has its own e-mail templates, a cancel link, separate statuses for reminding and cancelling, and a configurable time. A store that sells only by UPN is fine with the first module.

Installation
How to install it.
We install the module from our repository with Composer. We send you the user name and access key for the repository after purchase. If you prefer, we install it for you.
In the root of the Magento 2 store run the commands (replace UPORABNIK and DOSTOPNI_KLJUC with the user name and access key you received):

In the admin open Stores › Configuration › Magelan › Unpaid Order Reminder.
- Set Enable Unpaid Order Reminder to Yes (it is already on by default).
- In Order Statuses to Remind choose the statuses of unpaid orders, and in Order Statuses to Cancel the statuses cancelled when the period ends. Replace the default status predracun with your own.
- Enter the day the reminder starts (Day to Start Reminder) and the number of further days until cancellation (Days to be Reminded).
- Optionally enter the sender e-mail and choose the reminder and cancellation e-mail templates.
- Pick the time and frequency of the run (daily recommended).
Where do I get the user name and the access key?
After the purchase we send you the access key by e-mail. Keep it safe: for security it is shown only once and we do not keep it in readable form. The user name (your project code) and all the commands, ready to copy, are in your account under My account > Module licences.
