Important: Online stores and news

Current: Tax calculation as of 1.7.2021

The online store will undergo significant changes in VAT taxation as of July 1, 2021. Slovenian merchants will have to charge customers the VAT of the country to which they send products.

If a company in another EU country is not yet identified for VAT purposes because it has not exceeded the current threshold of 35,000 EUR, it should be aware that the new threshold for distance selling of goods is 10,000 EUR for all EU countries combined.

Therefore, if a company is approaching the threshold of 10,000 EUR, it should register in the VEM system in time or obtain VAT numbers for all EU countries from which the final consumers come.

VAT payers in Slovenia must ensure that the online store takes into account the rates of the individual country to which the goods are sent. It is also important that the correct rate applicable to each product is charged. For this purpose, the European Commission's tool is available to the public, through which we can see which rate applies to which product categories. New stores: Calls for funds

According to unofficial information, vouchers for the construction of online stores are expected to reopen in the near future (within 1-3 months). If applying is relevant to you, we are in the system of contractors and can prepare an offer for the creation of the store so that you have everything ready for the application. The number of funds has always been limited so far, and those who applied quickly received them.

Magento 2: New video tutorials

We have prepared some short video tutorials for editing Magento 2 systems:

Magento 1: Login issues due to spam protection

All Magento (<1.9.4.5) stores that have built-in spam protection for Recaptcha have encountered a problem with newsletter signup and registration due to a conflict of JavaScript files caused by a change in the built-in Recaptcha code. It is necessary to update the Prototype library. It is recommended that if you continue to use Magento 1 stores, they be upgraded to Openmage.

Openmage is an unofficial development for Magento 1 and offers better performance and more security as the system has been significantly upgraded/changed since the last official version. We have already done the upgrade on several stores and there were no major issues. The upgrade with error correction takes approximately 2 hours of work and can be arranged through our support at the email podpora@degriz.net.
