Tiered gifts: settings

What the module settings do: stacking of tiers, threshold basis, declining the gift, gift weight, display, accent colour and tracking.

The settings apply to all ladders. A single ladder can override the stacking and the threshold basis; everything else applies everywhere. Most settings can also be changed per website or store view (scope switcher at the top left).

You also get there through Marketing › Promotions › Tiered gift settings.

Display

  • Progress on the cart page and Progress in the mini cart: the bar with the tiers and “€X more for a gift”.
  • Gift badge on the product page: “Gift with orders over €50”, or “This purchase brings you a gift” when the product would reach the next tier.
  • Gift picker in the checkout: a “Choose a gift” or “Change gift” button in the order summary (Luma and Firecheckout).
  • Note “You can change the gift in the cart” in the checkout and Show which value counts (for example “Applies to the value of products incl. VAT after discounts, without shipping”).
  • Accent colour (for example #047857) and Corner radius (px): the progress bar, reached tiers and the badge. A darker shade for text and a light one for backgrounds are derived automatically, with enough contrast.

The default green and an orange accent colour. A theme can also set the colour with the CSS variables --mfg-accent, --mfg-accent-strong, --mfg-accent-soft and --mfg-radius.

Texts, tracking, advanced

  • Texts: your own progress and badge texts, see Tiered gifts: texts per store view.
  • GA4 events: gift_tier_reached, gift_picker_open, select_gift, decline_gift and gift_removed (gtag or dataLayer).
  • Gift actions in cart price rules: see Free gift by rule (advanced).
  • Debug log: writes the gift decisions to var/log/magelan_freegift.log. Switch it on only while looking for a problem.
After changing the settings, flush the cache (System › Cache Management) so cached pages show them too.
