A gift is a product with stock like any other. When an order is placed, the gift’s stock goes down, so keep an eye on it just like on the stock of the products you sell.
What happens when a gift runs out
- A gift that is out of stock or disabled is not offered. In the picker its card says “Out of stock” and cannot be chosen.
- If a gift the customer has already chosen runs out, the module removes it from the cart and shows “The gift you chose is out of stock. Please choose another gift.”
- If the automatic gift of a tier is out of stock, the progress bar tells the customer that the gift of this tier is out of stock right now.
How to avoid empty tiers
On a “Customer chooses” tier offer several gifts. When one runs out, the customer picks another.
When you save the ladder, check the Warnings in the preview: they list gifts that are out of stock, disabled or not assigned to the website.
When a gift is out for a longer time, replace it in the tier with another product (Choose products) and save the ladder.
If you use several sources (Inventory, MSI), the module checks whether the gift is salable for the customer’s website.
