When somebody orders through it, the order is credited to the partner, who earns a commission. You pay only for real sales, the partner sees the earnings in their account, and you manage partners, commissions and payouts in the admin.

"A blogger mentioned us and sales moved, but we could not tell how much was hers, and we had no way to thank her." An affiliate program fixes that: every partner has a link and a code, the shop sees what they brought, and pays only for orders that really happened.
Ana has a cooking blog. She applies in the shop and chooses the code of her link. You approve, and Ana gets her link and a personal code ANA10. A reader clicks the link; if cookies are allowed, the shop remembers the click. Within 30 days she orders for €80: the base is €65.57 without VAT and the 10 % commission is €6.56. Ana sees it under Commissions as "Pending"; after the hold time it becomes "Approved" and is added to her store credit in your shop, which she spends on her own orders. There is no contract and nothing is withheld. If Ana were a company, you would pay her by transfer against an invoice instead.
Shops that people recommend: bloggers, influencers, experts, happy customers, partner sites. Anybody with an account in the shop can apply and you decide who becomes a partner.
On first run, Marketing › Affiliate program › Partners offers a two-step wizard that asks how much you pay, who approves and how partners are rewarded, and creates a draft terms page. For personal coupon codes choose a cart price rule in Stores › Configuration › Magelan › Affiliate Program. Tell us what program you want, we can set it up too.

You get the module from our private Composer repository; the username and access key arrive after purchase. We can install it for you, or whoever looks after your store can run these commands in the root of the Magento 2 store (replace USER and ACCESS_KEY with the details you received):
composer config repositories.degriz composer https://www.degriz.net/konfigurator/composer/packages/composer config --auth http-basic.www.degriz.net USER ACCESS_KEYcomposer require degriznet/m2_affiliatephp bin/magento module:enable Magelan_Affiliatephp bin/magento setup:upgradephp bin/magento setup:di:compilephp bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy -fphp bin/magento cache:flushAfter installing, open Marketing › Affiliate program › Partners: on first run a two-step wizard asks how much you pay, who approves and how partners are rewarded applications.
After the purchase we send you the access key by e-mail. Keep it safe: for security it is shown only once and we do not keep it in readable form. The user name (your project code) and all the commands, ready to copy, are in your account under My account > Module licences.
Lost the key? Write to us and we will issue a new one; the old one stops working. [email protected]

When is a commission confirmed and when does the partner get paid?
A commission starts in the Pending state. When the order is invoiced (or shipped or completed, depending on the setting) and the waiting period you define (14 days by default) has passed, it becomes Confirmed. For a partner with store credit (the default reward) it is then added to the balance automatically. A partner who receives payouts (a company or sole trader) requests one in their account, if it is above the minimum amount; you make the transfer yourself and mark it Paid in the administration with a reference, and the partner receives an e-mail.
What happens to the commission if the customer returns a product?
A credit memo adds a negative line for the proportional part of the commission, and a cancelled order earns no commission. If the commission has already been paid out, the refund is deducted from the next payout (configurable: whether you allow a negative balance).
Does the module work if the customer refuses cookies?
The tracking cookie is set only if the visitor allows marketing cookies. If they refuse, we only count anonymous clicks and store nothing personal. A partner's personal coupon code still attributes the order to the partner, because the customer enters the code themselves. If the store has no cookie banner, no cookie is created by default; the Legitimate interest mode is the merchant's legal assessment.
Does the partner see customer data?
No. The partner sees only the date, a partially hidden order number, the commission amount and the status. We never show the partner customer names, addresses or e-mail addresses.
Who decides who becomes a partner, and what protects against abuse?
You do. By default you approve every application yourself (you can choose automatic approval). The module flags self-referrals (same account or e-mail), the same shipping address or IP and, if you wish, limits the number of commissions per IP address per day. You review the flagged commissions and release or reject them; a rejected commission is shown to the partner only as Cancelled.
How do I pay a commission to a private person?
A money payout to an individual means a contract (for example a copyright or service contract), a REK-O return, an income tax advance and contributions. It is heavily taxed and costs the shop well above the commission, which is why most shops reward partners with store credit, the module's default reward. A partner who is a company or sole trader invoices you and receives a payout. The module does not carry out payouts and does not compute taxes; it keeps the ledger and exports a CSV with tax number and partner type. Your accountant does the return; this is not tax advice, check it with your accountant.
Can I reward a partner with store credit instead of a payout?
Yes, and for individuals store credit is the usual and recommended choice; it is also the default reward. The confirmed commission goes to a store credit balance that is taken off the orders the partner places themselves like a discount, never above the value of the items and never off shipping. There is no contract with the partner, and the accounting is simpler than with a money payout. A money payout is mainly for partners that are companies or sole traders and invoice you; set it per commission group or per partner. The tax treatment depends on your programme and country: the module gives no tax advice, so check it with your accountant.
What if a customer returns goods that were paid for with store credit?
When an order is cancelled or goods are returned, the store credit that was used is returned pro rata.
