Have you ever felt that certain ads follow you around the entire internet? Were these ads from a site you recently visited? This is the result of remarketing. Remarketing is a true little revolution in online advertising and you can hardly afford not to use it.
In classic pay-per-click advertising, we lose an average of 98% of visitors as they leave our site without making a purchase. With remarketing, we can ensure that these 98% of visitors see targeted ads and are convinced to return. Just think, all these visitors showed interest in your products at some point, but something deterred them from purchasing. The reasons can vary, maybe it's the high price, high shipping costs, or perhaps the customer currently doesn't have the money.

The more customers leave our site without purchasing, the higher the advertising cost for each completed purchase. We solved this problem with retargeting. With retargeting, we ensured that all visitors who left without purchasing were shown our targeted ads. These ads reminded them of our store and the products they viewed. We segmented the visitors into those who only viewed the products, those who added products to the cart, and those who already made a purchase. This way, we could show them relevant ads and appropriately encourage them to purchase in our store.
The first product for which we created a retargeting campaign was the popular Smoothie Maker. We used Google Adwords for search engines and display networks and Adroll for retargeting on Facebook. Before this, the advertising cost for the Smoothie Maker was €8.92. After a month of testing retargeting, we recorded incredible results. The advertising cost for Smoothie Makers sold through retargeting campaigns was only €2.09. Not only did we increase the number of sales, but we also reduced the cost per sold item through advertising.
This was, of course, not an isolated case, and we recorded similar results with other products. As you can see, retargeting is a marketing strategy you should seriously consider.
